This pigeon needs a kind human

On Thursday I was asked for help to deal with a racing pigeon that has been found unable to fly because of an injured wing.  I took the bird home and after examining it decided he/she has a reasonable chance of recovery - I think it may have been shot but I don't think its wing is broken.
I contacted the Royal Racing Pigeon Association by completing the "found pigeon page" on  their web-site and promptly received the owner's details.  However the details were wrong and it took several phone calls before I eventually made contact.  To be honest I got the distinct impression that the owner doesn't really want to go to the trouble and expense of arranging to have the bird couriered back home and I've heard nothing more from him.
I've done the best I can for the bird, he's a very handsome little chap (or should that be she's a very pretty little lass....), robust and bright eyed, but I'm not sure when/if it will fly again.
I've got no suitable accommodation for him/her.  At present I'm afraid he's in a plastic crate on one of the work surfaces in our kitchen.
So can anyone out there help?
If you have room in an aviary or enclosure of some sort and would be willing to do a pigeon a good turn please get in touch.
