Thrush Spectacle

I was over Clewedog yesterday afternoon and although the fishing was
hopeless, too cold, the journey was not completely wasted as the Fieldfare
and Red Wing numbers were incredible running into thousands wave after
wave of mixed flocks I thought at first they were passing through but soon
realised they were in fact flying in big circles a real spectacle to
witness. The area around where the boats and moored is a vantage spot. I
was in the area a month ago watching waves of Swallows departing with only
a handful of Red Wings at that time.
