I have Julie and Derek up from Devon staying for the weekend. Derek is a keen birder and is a member of Devon Bird Watching & Preservation Society. All three of us popped over to Cors Caron for an hour this afternoon. No Golden Eagle but a nice surprise to see a Short Eared Owl just south of the raised bog east of the hide. A Red Kite circled low over the area and put up the SEO.
100+ mixed flock of Fieldfare and Redwing along the old railway line was also nice to see too.
