Aberaeron today

We had a glorious walk from Aberaeron to Newquay and back today - usual resident species including lots of very vociferious dunnocks and a few treecreepers. Highlights were 5 fulmar wheeling near or on the cliffs just south of Gilfach and a pair of stonechat up by the path; also 2 chough. Plenty of Herring and BH gulls at Llanina Point plus 2 Common and one GBB. On the way back, just north of Gilfachyrhalen we had another male stonechat and an obliging red throated diver fishing close in - with flat water making it all the easier to see. Lovely to see primroses in flower and glossy cuckoo pint leaves much in evidence. It even felt like Spring! The pasty shop and Sidoli icecream emporium in Newquay were also in fine form.

Also 4 whoopers on the lake just before Landdewi Brefi visible from the B road from Tregaron to Lampeter.
