First osprey chick hatched on the Dyfi

The first osprey chick has hatched on the Dyfi this year late on Friday evening, June 28th. This is the first ever chick for the new female Blue 12(10) and one of the latest osprey chicks hatched on record in the UK.

Incubation was 37 days - bang on average for ospreys. Image of the chick just seconds old and before the eyes have opened.
