At last ..............

After several failed attepts to see the Borth Long-tailed Duck today was a very different story - in fact I saw the duck, which is a superb summer plumage bird almost as soon as I arrived at the Ynyslas turn. A bit more scanning revealed a female Gadwall tucked into the scoter flock and two Arctic Terns in the mouth of the estuary. Next stop Glandwr, which was pretty quiet until two waders flew in. One was a lapwing the other a cracking little Wood Sandpiper. Buoyed by success I gave the Dolgoed Green Woodpecker another chance to give its self up and at 12.17pm I was rewarded with a single yaffling call.
