Garden visitor

This little cracker is one of three Redpolls visiting my garden feeders recently.

They're quite pushy and will take on the bigger finches in order to get their fair share of sunflower seeds.

There are a couple of regular Chaffinches that have hideously deformed feet.

Whatever the disease is, it only seems to affect that species.  Anyone know what it is and what causes it?
