Ynys-hir

No sign of the drake garganey today but there were 25 Greenland white-fronted geese and the bean goose feeding on Penrhyngerwin this morning, visible from the Breakwater hide. Also quite a few chiffchaff in, our first wheatear, two white wagtails from Ynys Feurig hide, a ringtail hen harrier over Covert coch and a merlin over the breakwater fields. Chris Bird also phoned to say that he was watching a third year Iceland gull at Aberystwyth; I hope it stays for a bit.
