A fruitless search for a Lesser ‘Pecker around the Ynys-Hir woods yesterday morning though strongly suspect audible drumming and call.  This Chiffchaff was singing at full volume - a song I welcome for the first couple of weeks, beyond which its repetitive nature begins to grate a bit!! Distant record shot only I’m afraid.  Assuming a migrant but these days need who knows given that photo’d one near Welshpool in December and Shrewsbury in January!
