By an area of clear fell near Llyn Pendam last night, John and I were eventually treated to the sight of a Nightjar flying across the clearing and landing in the top of a conifer, churring away long enough for us to enjoy scope views.
Over the next half hour it made occasional flights, sometimes close to us, until, just as we were about to leave at 10.55, it gave a final churr, sending us on our way contented.
