Welsh Assembly survey about its new nature Law

A message from RSPB Wales

'Over the next few months we've got a fantastic opportunity to make sure that our wildlife is given a better chance at recovery.

We've been campaigning hard recently to stop the laws that underpin nature protection across Europe from being weakened, and thank you so much if you've already called on European leaders to defend nature.

Now we have a chance to make things better for wildlife at home. The Welsh Assembly is proposing a new Environment law. The Committee looking at the principles of this new law have done something unusual and set up a survey to ask us, the public, what we think.

So let's tell them!

Right now, the Bill aims well, but it's missing a crucial point. It seeks to ensure the Welsh natural environment is in better condition, but it doesn't say how it'll work for nature, and help our wildlife populations recover.

Please take their online survey, and tell the Committee you'd like to see an Environment Bill that works for wildlife.

The survey is quick and easy, and we've put some more information on our We Love Wales blog to help you.'

You'll need to go into the RSPB website and click on Community/get involved or just google RSPB We love Wales.  Its a very short questionnaire posed by WAG.

Its no exaggeration to suggest that wildlife interests are being lined up against economic targets in food production, flood prevention and forestry so if we don't rally round for wildlife/conservation it will go back to the bottom of the list of priorities.

Apologies if you are a member of RSPB and have this info already.
