I think we may be approaching a time when large numbers of Med Gulls are just accepted as a normal part of the local birding scene at this time of the year, and we no longer bother to count them.
Until then; at high tide this morning there were 35 on South beach, 109 on the sea just north of the pier, and later, 18 on Blaendolau playing fields.
P.S. I have particularly enjoyed the contributions of messrs Morris, Relph and Hayward regarding the above species.
