Aberystwyth

Quite cold in the fresh NNW wind when I arrived but at least it was dry. The tide was well out but scanning the rocks at Castle Point produced six Turnstones, a Dunlin and a very high count of 36 Ringed Plover.
Early on, Manx Shearwaters were passing at around 1300 per hour, with a few Gannets and three Common Scoter.
John came wandering along and joined me on the castle, from where we watched eight Sandwich Terns that were lingering offshore.
On the way home I checked Blaendolau playing fields and found 274 Mediterranean Gulls; all ages with adults in the majority.
