High tide at Ynyshir

The very high tide was already up when I made my way to the Saltings Hide yesterday morning.  On arrival I met Jerry Moore, who had already had Kingfisher, Green Sandpiper and at least two Stock Doves around the newish wetland between Marian Mawr and Domen Las.
Apart from ca12 Snipe earlier, the only waders were Curlews and Oystercatchers, in no great numbers.
Wildfowl included six Greylags, seven Red-breasted Mergansers, 185 Teal, moderate numbers of Wigeon and a Goosander.  Two drake Pintail drifted in, though later I had a count of 128 when I returned with Bob.
After Jerry and I went our separate ways the Green Sandpiper flew in, then back at reception I was about to leave when Bob turned up, so we went back for another session of seeing not very much, but enjoying the mild autumn sunshine.
