White-fronts at last
It is amazing what is out there once the rain stops and visibility is better than 20 meters. The highlight on the WeBS count at RSPB Ynys-hir this morning was a slavonian grebe on the river opposite the Marian Mawr hide though a spotted redshank on the Breakwater fields was nice too. This afternoon there were 19 Greenland white-fronted geese on the Dyfi opposite the Marian Mawr hide (I was looking for the slav again), a barn owl hunting around the pools, two kingfishers there and a second-winter Mediterranean gull flying down the Dyfi with about 200 common gulls. Looks like visibility will be back to normal tomorrow when more rain comes in.
