Yesterday at Aberaeron

Aberaeron
The highlight was a male Mandarin Duck in the harbour, in the company of Mallards, one of them a ringed domestic bird. Also a Rock Pipit, a Grey Wagtail, a Cormorant and 3 Turnstones. More Turnstones  scattered along North Beach where there were also 3 Oystercatchers, and 7 Curlews made their way up the coast. Another Rock Pipit up there. Male Hen Harrier at Pont Einon on the way back.

Interesting to see the Mandarin is still around Aberaeron, assuming it is the same bird which was reported as a female in July, as it was in eclipse plumage at the time, and was later seen to come into full male plumage.
