Scaup

after a frustrating day birding from the car in heavy rain yesterday today was markedly better. At Cwm Rheidiol reservoir all looked bird less at first (where are the tufties for my county year list?) when at the narrow channel into the reservoir a male goldeneye and an immature scaup appeared diving simultaneously. At cors Caron a willow tit obliged almost immediately though no sign of the shrike at cross inn. Lovely day until the rain downed dismal.
