Seven of us made it to Lampeter for todays field trip and were rewarded
by
good weather and very good birds all singing well.
The list was: spotted
flycatcher, blackcap, swallow, great tit, robin,
chaffinch, garden warbler,
blackbird, siskin, treecreeper, goldcrest,
buzzard, kite, crow, rook, willow
warbler, pied wagtail, chiffchaff,
redpoll, wren, wood warbler, coal tit,
raven, dunnock, blue tit, song
thrush, long tailed tit, nuthatch, jackdaw,
goldfinch, sparrowhawk, pied
flycatcher, great spotted woodpecker, redstart,
and mistle thrush.
We had good views of singing warblers and flycatchers
and we are very
grateful to Ian for leading the walk and using his sharp ears
to help us
locate the birds.
