Midsummer Golden Plover are very unusual away from their upland breeding grounds so Chris Bird was more than surprised to find one at Ynyslas this afternoon.
Other waders were eight Dunlin, all in breeding plumage (as was the goldie) and six Ringed Plover, which included two juveniles.
A flock of 45-50 Linnets on the saltmarsh was also unseasonal.
