Chris had a run up to the lakes above Penrhyncoch today. At Llyn Syfydrin there were two pairs of Tufted Ducks and two more males. A family of Mallards were acting like diving ducks; staying underwater for long periods. Nine Canada Geese completed the wildfowl count. There was also a Common Sandpiper.
Nearby, on the east side of Llyn Blaenmelindwr. lots of small birds including the common warbler species and Meadow and Tree Pipits. On the lake was another pair of Tufted and a male.
At Aberystwyth, an adult Bottle-nosed Dolphin with a half-grown calf.
