October Field Trip - Llandewi Brefi & Pant Pond

Thanks to everyone who came on today's field trip despite the less than promising weather forecast. We managed to stay largely dry and were rewarded by beautiful rainbows after each shower. The highlights were a male and female Scaup on Pant Pond (thank you David Price for assisting with the ID) and a Common Sandpiper seen in beautiful light by a muddy puddle in a field. All (well, I hope I did not miss any) sightings in alphabetical order, total of 36 species: Blackbird, Blue Tit, Buzzard, Carrion Crow, Chaffinch, Coal Tit, Common Sandpiper, Coot, Cormorant, Dunnock, Feral Pigeon, Goldfinch, Great Tit, Grey Heron, Greylag Goose, Jackdaw, Jay, Lesser Black Backed Gull, Linnet, Little Grebe, Magpie, Mallard, Meadow Pipit, Mistle Thrush, Mute Swan, Nuthatch, Peregrine, Pied Wagtail, Red Kite, Redwing, Robin, Rook, Scaup, Treecreeper, Woodpigeon, Wren. Also thanks to Stewart for the useful information on agricultural practices and grants which helped to explain a lot of the changes observed along the route.
