White-fronted Geese at Llanon

The European White-fronted Geese were still present to the south of Llanon this morning, in the furthest stubble field. Their number has increased today to 16. At one point they were disturbed by a very loud helicopter flying directly overhead and they flew quite far out to sea. I was very pleased a short while later to enjoy the magnificent sight of them returning in a straight line. After circling around over a large area in various formations they eventually landed back in the same place.

Note:   Cuddfan y Gors is the Welsh name for the boardwalk hide at Cors Caron, as set out on the excellent bilingual signage. It has a more melodious sound than the English name, which is the Bog Hide.
