William Condry

Thought some of blog readers might be interested in this communication I received from The Cambrian Mountains Soc:

The 'grapevine' has just told me that a young film production company, Greengage Films, is wanting to make a film on the life and work of Bill Condry but needs crowdfunding to start the project.  In my opinion Bill Condry was amongst the very best of C20th British natural history writers and this film will be a fitting tribute.  For those that may be unfamiliar with Bill's work he was a contributor for many years to the Guardian's Country Diary column and, amongst other books, wrote the seminal text - The Snowdonia National Park (Collins, New Naturalist Series). As many of you will know he was, for some years, the warden of  RSPB's Ynys-hir reserve on which he and his wife Penny made their home.  I am also sure from his writings that Bill had a great love for neighbouring Pumlumon, for its landscape, its infant rivers, flora and fauna.

I have recently seen another another of Greengages films, "Our Wilderness" and consider that their work shows great skill and a passion for Wales' natural history. Please take a look at the link below and see what you think?
