Ynyslas and Aberystwyth gull roost

There were 5 Goldeneye and a Peregrine around the Domen-las hide at Ynys-hir on Sunday as well as 4 Light-bellied Brent Geese at the point at Ynyslas along with a few Sanderling and not a lot else. A few Common Scoter, a Shag and 3 Great Crested Grebes were on the sea.
The gull roost on Monday evening produced 2 Med gulls and a Y-L gull. Still no sign of any white wingers around Aber.

Edward also sent this photo of what he thinks is a Herring Gull and drew my attention to the bill length and small eye.  Looks like a Herring to me but other opinions welcome.

Regarding white-winged gulls, see Mark's posting below.
