Seven of us met today for the July field trip and enjoyed a very
interesting
walk in Cross Inn forest. The list of species seen and
heard is: buzzard,
kite, wood pigeon, great spotted woodpecker,
swallow, house martin, meadow
pipit, wren, robin, stonechat, blackbird,
song thrush, sedge warbler,
whitethroat, blackcap, chiffchaff, willow
warbler, goldcrest, willow tit,
coal tit, blue tit, great tit, jay,
magpie, crow, chaffinch, goldfinch,
siskin, linnet, redpoll,
bullfinch.

walk and very patiently answered all
our questions about an area he knows
well.
