Llansantffraed

Another trip to Llansantffraed for the high tide.  Still not much variety but wader numbers much increased since yesterday, as follows:
Ringed Plover 95,  Curlew 45,  Turnstone 42,  Oystercatcher 21,  Dunlin 6 and Whimbrel 1.
One of the Oystercatchers was the mainly white bird which has been seen regularly in the area since Jan 2006, though never in summer, I believe.
The Whimbrel had a blue/yellow ring combination.  I couldn't get close enough to read the number but I had three similar birds here on 11th May which were ringed by Tony Cross in late April.
Not a single Med Gull seen, but there was a Wheatear on the beach and at least five Sand Martins around.
