I decided to head inland from Aberystwyth this morning and view some of the upland lakes. Disappointingly they were largely devoid of birdlife but on leaving my final destination, Llyn Glandwgan at Trisant, things changed radically when a noisy flock of between 45 and 50 Pink-footed Geese flew over, high above me. They came in from the west and headed south east.
