Glorious
walk from Llanrhystud beach car park to Aberaeron and back (via chip shop and
Hive on the Quay icecream!). Generally quiet but highlights were a red throated
diver, Med gulls in full summer plumage loafing amongst the black headeds, 3
chough, 5 redshank flying with a single turnstone, raven, kites, a lovely bright
male stonechat and partner, a few kittiwake and a shag.
Top
highlight though has to be a harbour porpoise - clear, repeated views of the fin
and occasionally of the side of the body as it very slowly headed south -
starting only 50m or so off shore (land ref. SN 48344 64359.
