High tide at Ynys-hir

I was hoping for summer migrants this morning but in the event found only three Chiffchaffs (Andy James also had one at Aberaeron).
Straight to the Ynys Feurig hide, where the Spotted Redshank was hiding among 210 Curlews and 95 Redshank.  A pair of Shoveler also on the pool.  23 Greenland White-fronted Geese were visible several fields away down the estuary and on the Dyfi were 13 Red-breasted Mergansers.  A party of 16 Wigeon flew upriver.
The highlight was a fine male Hen Harrier which worked its way along the railway line, flushing six Snipe and a Dunlin along the way.
At the far end of the reserve a Merlin was on the saltings.
