Field trip to the Clettwr

A small group of us met in beautiful weather on Sunday morning and
enjoyed a very interesting walk.

The list of birds recorded was: robin, dunnock, wren, blue tit, great
tit, great spotted woodpecker, blackbird, song thrush, mistle thrush,
pheasant, crow, jay, magpie, Canada goose, barnacle goose, lapwing,
golden plover, snipe (a group of 12 at one point), redshank, curlew,
dipper, chaffinch, grey wagtail, kingfisher( very good views), mute
swan, teal, ring tailed hen harrier, kite, kestrel, house sparrow,
water pipit, meadow pipit, reed bunting, great black-backed gull,
herring gull, wood pigeon, collared dove, goldcrest, starling, and, the
best sighting of the day, eight twite.
