Spent the last 40 mins of daylight on the layby. Surprisingly no hen harrier today, the only raptors 2 red kites. Great views of a grey seal fishing in the river below us. Other birds included a common sandpiper, 4 goldeneye, 8 Goosander.
I met Barry Long there who had previously seen a green sandpiper from the Domen Las hide. A barn owl was hunting over the salt marsh bu no sign of the short-eared.
