I was alerted by a French friend to a Quail he had heard calling in late May 2015 (approximate date) in fields above Aberarth /Aberaeron towards Monachty mansion.
I ascertained that Quail had either been bred and released or simply released in the area. May possibly account for the Llanon bird and the late date.
