Brief stop at Glandyfi lay-bye yesterday afternoon with great views again of a female hen harrier which was present all the time I was there. Large influx of black headed gulls looked like they were attracted by flying insects up from the saltmarsh with at least 170 birds. A couple of great black backed gulls,a raven and 10 carrion crows on a sheep carcase.
I returned to Glandyfi this afternoon. Highlights: a pair of goosander, a female goldeneye, 1 green and 1 common sandpiper, 10 lapwing, 3 little egrets.
Earlier this morning a pair of kingfishers, 2 stock doves, and a sparrowhawk at the Einion bridge at Ynys-hir.
