Llanon to Llanrhystud

A Fulmar was prospecting the cliffs south of Llanon this morning.  Just up the coast at Llansantffraed were good numbers of waders, though I must have missed some as I couldn't get into the bay because of the high tide.  Final counts were 55 Curlews, 10 Redshank, five Turnstones and 53 Oystercatchers, including the white bird.
Last port of call was the beach car park at Llanrhystud.  Among the hundreds of Black-headed Gulls on the sea I managed to pick out two adult Med Gulls, including one with a full hood.  There could well have been more among the flock of ca600 Black-headed which were wheeling around over the fields.
