Ynyslas and Borth Bog

Got the feeling there were a few early spring migrants around this afternoon. With 8 Stonechats around Ynys Tachwedd fields, usually only get a couple wintering in the area. There also seemed to be a lot of Reed Buntings around (30+). There were also 5 Fieldfares feeding in amongst a large Starling flock and a flock of c.50 Stock Doves was still feeding in the weedy field. There were also 2 Sparrowhawks in the area. A female Merlin, a superb ringtail Hen Harrier, 2 Goldcrests, a Redpoll, 2 Barn Owls and a Water Pipit were on Borth Bog this evening (from the Leri footpath).

I think I will have my first vismig session of the year tomorrow at the point at Ynyslas, as some other UK sites have recorded some movement recently.
