Green Woodpeckers

I'm delighted that a Green Woodpecker was heard in Long Wood at the weekend. There are so few of them in Ceredigion and they are so damned quiet and elusive. The last one that I saw was in Long Wood, probably more than ten years ago. Could they be there all year round I wonder or might they wander from elsewhere?
