I'd like to see a Green Woodpecker

After reading the post about the GN Diver at Teifi valley lakes the other day, I popped up there on Sunday as I haven't been there for years. No luck, but a couple of female Goldeneye on Llyn Hir. I also met a man who evidently does a lot of walking in this remote area. He told me that a few weeks ago he saw a brown owl "as big as a Buzzard" up there. Also, during the summer, he had several encounters with a family group of Red Grouse. He gestured north, a mile or two away, I think. This morning two pairs of Marsh Tits were above Llanfair Clydogau and a pair of Willow Tits were in a field adjacent to the B4343 just south of Pont Gogoyan. Woodcock at both sites.
