I missed plenty of easy birds, but managed to end up with a total of 57 species.
Wildfowl provided the highlights, starting with five Shoveler on the sea at Ynyslas turn (found by Russell, who arrived there shortly after I did).
Bird of the day was the redhead Smew on the Dyfi at Ynys-hir, where there were also pairs of Goldeneye and Goosander; both males looking resplendent. Nearby on the Marian Mawr pools were four Gadwall.
Other goodies were Peregrine and Kingfisher at Aberystwyth, another Kingfisher at Ynys-hir and a male Bullfinch by the Cletwr.
