Plenty of local interest for Ceredigion birders on BBC's Winterwatch Apart from the remarkable footage of the Barn Owl under Aberystwyth pier, I particularly enjoyed the visit to the kite feeding at Bwlch Nant yr Arian. It was great to see Iolo Williams chatting to Tony Cross before giving a tribute to Tony for all the years he's spent studying and protecting the Red Kite, the results of which were all around them.
Incidentally, Paul Bennett contacted me to say that the first Barn Owl kill under the pier was a rat, rather than a Starling. I've looked at it quite a few times but find the image to be just too indistinct to be convinced.
