Aggressive Dippers

Fascinating to chance upon a couple of dippers being very aggressive to each other on a narrow wooded stretch of the Afon Ceulan in Talybont yesterday. They were at it for a few minutes. Plenty of rapid aerial chasing up and down the stream, some diving into the water and face to face 'combat' on a bankside shingle bank. Loud calling throughout. It all ended with the birds flying off in different directions. A territorial dispute? Or a female seeing off an aggressive suitor?
