A fairly typical November day. About 70 each of Curlew and Lapwing, 29 Turnstones, 15 Oystercatchers, 8 Redshank and a Dunlin, plus 5 Reed Buntings. 400 BH Gulls also. Yesterday, at work, I saw a large flock of gulls at Bryngwenith, Henllan. A mixed flock of at least 600 birds (BH, Herring, LBB) in an area that often has Lapwings and Golden Plovers, so perhaps they were present somewhere also. Ian Burgess, who lives on my round, in Penrhiwllan, told me that he saw a Swallow the other day near Cwmtydu, which fits in nicely with the recent Hoopoe sighting.
