Popped over to Cross Inn Forest this morning to search for a GG Shrike, but to no avail. The usual false alarms; Bullfinch (through misted up bins), GS Woodpecker (posing provocatively in dead conifer). I saw 3 Crossbills, only my second record this year, a Woodcock and a Snipe. Small parties of Redwings were regularly heading NE, low overhead, about 400 in 90 minutes.
