An ornithological society trip to New quay today resulted in all the usual seabirds along with a number of whitethroats, wheatears and our first swift of the year, flying along the cliff then out to sea. We then stopped off at Llanrhystud on the way back to Aber, a number of whimbrel on the beach, 2 common sands, plenty of hirundines and 8 dunlin were on the flooded field with 2 whimbrel and a lovely summer plumage bar-tailed godwit.
