Cribyn and the Aeron Valley

We came back to my native Ceredigion last week for a week's holiday in a cottage near Cribyn so I thought I ought to report what we had seen/heard while there....... not much sadly.  2 Dippers half a mile or so apart on the lower reaches of the Aeron. Plenty of Nuthatches along with asmall family of Treecreepers and a Greater Spotted near our lodgings - also quite frequent sightings and hearings of Bullfinches

.Also, I had heard Chiffchaffs/Willow Warblers(?) mooching about the undergrowth all week but the highlight for me was a Chiffchaff singing lustily as I packed up the car early yesterday (27th) - I think it is the first time I have heard one sing in August. The other highlight (non-avian) was my only Painted Lady of the Summer sharing a small Buddleia with 3 Red Admirals.
