More Waxwings

Having failed to find the white-tailed eagle near Llanuwchlyn on Monday, I set off on a second wild goose chase on Thursday and this time it was successful. The four waxwing were easy to find alongside the old railway track across the Teifi Marshes and they stuck to the same short section of overgrown hedge with hawthorns for several hours. They were almost completely oblivious to nearby human activity, perhaps because they had never come across people before. From my photographs I can see there was an adult female and a 1st winter female there, so perhaps it was a family party. They flew off together about 3 pm.
