Heard our first grasshopper warbler of the year below our house in Cwmystwyth this morning and this afternoon one of the swallows that nest in our garage returned home. We were beginning to think they had succumbed to the cold weather, or the Icelandic ash-cloud.
Yesterday pm had a quick walk around Ynys Las point where there were at least 24 arctic terns. 15 bar-tailed godwits and 4 whimbrel were along the shoreline. Quite a few Manx shearwater passing - but no gannets.
