Bird Group Field Trip 16 January

I turned up at Aberaeron car park expecting that I would hang around for about 10 minutes while nobody else arrived then I could head to a cafe for a coffee and cake. Imagine my huge disappointment when 6 other brave souls turned up on such a cold, wet day! Congratulations to Elaine, Angie, Aline, Mike, Noel and Terry for showing the Dunkirk spirit. (Bob had already sent his apologies because he was unable to attend but he was also there in spirit!)

I've just added up the bird count and am delighted to say that we reached 25 including Goosander, Snipe, Curlew, 30 Turnstones, Ringed Plover, Common Gull, Redshank. Many thanks to those who identified them. All I could see was huge blobs of water on my glasses and bins. In the harbour earlier on was another Black Headed Gull with its full black head already.
