Clettwr and the geese
After fruitlessly looking for the Greenland white-fronted geese on the reserve today I decided to walk down the Clettwr to check the fields there. Scoping from the bank (where the track on the left ends) I saw first of all the barnacle geese feeding in the last field before the railway line. There were 298 visible so I presume all have come back from their trip to the Teifi and the coast south from Llanrhystud. A scan further to the left revealed 48 Greenland white-fronted geese feeding near a parked yellow JCB. All looked quite settled and as I did not want to disturb any of the geese I cancelled my plan of walking to the Railway bridge and re-traced my steps. With the cold weather that we have experienced recently it is best to leave them all un-disturbed to regain their strength so if anyone does bird down the Clettwr please be aware of feeding geese.
