Sightings from a visiting, Pembrokeshire birder....

I came over the border today briefly visiting a few sites birding and thought I’d just send you my sightings.
Newquay – 3 Great Crested Grebes.
LLanrhystud – 13 Grey Plovers.
Pontrhydygroes 13.00 – Watched the Golden Eagle for about an hour, fantastic views. First seen flying with 2 Red Kites and a Buzzard (good for comparison size wise!!!). Then it began to soar higher and higher followed by folding its wings back and then superfast dives; It repeated these climbs and dives four times, then it drifted off out of sight. While watching the Eagle displaying, above us a Long Eared Bat appeared and was happily catching insects in the afternoon sun.
Hwyl, Karen.
