Wood Pigeons

Concern has been expressed, rightly, regarding the fate of small birds, such as Stonechats, in the severe cold weather early in the winter. I wonder if anyone else shares my (non-systematic) impression that the number of Wood Pigeon has crashed since the cold weather. I can only recall having seen one Wood Pigeon since Christmas! In contrast, the number of Stock Doves seems to have held up quite well.
